Acccckkk! Well, here it is almost midnight....and I just can't sleep! I guess I am revelling a bit in the sweet sounds of the dishwasher humming along, and my fingers typing away on this keyboard.
Today was pretty uneventful. I'm in one of those funks where you have so much to do...don't know where to start...so basically you do nothing! I messed around with my new oil paints. I desperately need to get to my art store to stock up on canvas...I have a million painting ideas, and I think I am down to one canvas. Yikes! I think I'll tell my husband that all I need for Christmas is a trip to the art store...and his debit card!
I have a couple of new works that I am pretty happy with. The first one is a sepia toned portrait...
She was modelled after an old Victorian postcard. I just love those hand-tinted images. Her name is Bronwen...and I will list her on ebay after Christmas.
My other painting I have been working on for the past couple of weeks. I've pretty much come to find that painting people...particularily women, is what I love...I mean, let's face it...we do have stunning bodies!
Anyway...here she is......As of yet she is nameless....so feel free to toss out any ideas! I am hoping to have her finished and ready for listing right after Christmas too. I suppose I could get around to posting a picture now!

This is a large painting...I think it's 24x28. She is going to be my last acrylic for a while. I really want to get my feet wet with oils.
Tomorrow is Yule...and I have to get up early to get everything ready. I'm taking my kids iceskating...then we some crafts to do....baking....getting the turkey in the oven. Then, of course, there is all the stuff I have to get done for Christmas. You know though, I just refuse to let myself get all worked up, and flustered over it. What's the point if you can't enjoy what this season means to you.
Well......I think I'm finally ready to try going to bed,so.....
To everyone, and anyone out there.....
Brightest Blessings, and Warm Holiday Wishes!!!!
Peace,
Celeste
I'm telling you...I have to be the worst journaller( is that a word?)ever! So this is it! I am actually going to try and stick with this...
It is bloody cold outside...but I am so addicted to my morning coffee that I warmed up my van for twenty minutes to drive the 30 seconds to the convenience store to get some cream. I'm sorry, but there is just nothing like that first cup of coffee in the morning...and milk just doesn't cut it! (I think I beginning to understand why I haven't been using this blog regularily...)
Okay...I guess I could talk about what I've been painting lately...
I've been working on a new nude piece all week. It's very detailed, so I probably won't have it finished before the weekend. I'm very happy with how it is going....as are my husband, and my thirteen-year-old son's friends. My husband thinks that I use myself as a model for my paintings, which is proof that love truly is blind...but I'm not going to knock it.
Now I guess I'd better wake up my kids, and get them off to school...and get back to this painting.

Well, I have admittedly been very lazy using my blog! On the upside I've been working hard on getting new paintings done...and have completed all my custom clothing orders.
I have been stocking my ebay store. Here is the link: http://stores.ebay.com/Celeste-Johnstons-Art-Gallery_W0QQssPageNameZl2QQtZkm
Here is one of my favorite new paintings. Her name is Anna. I used a Victorian postcard as a photo reference. The elaborate headress was both a challenge, and joy to paint.
She is currently listed in my ebay auctions.
This week I will be working on several new paintings. I almost have one children's mermaid painting done. I will also be working on some more handpainted clothing.
Well...of to get the kids ready for school.
Brightest Blessings to you all!!!
Celeste

Well,I am so excited to finally have my blog going! To anyone who finds themselves in my little corner of cyberspace...Welcome! Today I am hoping to get another Mermaid painting finished, and listed. Of course, I always set a goal of getting one painting done each day,but it doesn't usually happen. I did however, get a new painting listed last night, entitled 'Into the Mystic'. I hope you enjoy looking at it. Anyway...off to feed the kids, and send them to school.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
